Short Description
Our Sun Cream SPF 50 is the ideal facial sun protection for sensitive skin. Like our Sun Cream with SPF 30, it is based on mineral UV filters but has a lighter, creamy consistency in comparison. It spreads easily and provides protection without leaving a greasy or excessively white residue. Overall, this sun cream offers more nourishment than the lightweight Sun Cream SPF 50+. With a sun protection factor of 50, it comprehensively shields your skin from harmful UV radiation and photoaging.
The Sun Cream SPF 50 exclusively relies on mineral UV filters (zinc oxide) and provides a UV-B protection of 50 and sufficiently high UV-A protection. For this, at least 30% of the UV-B value is required, and our sun cream achieves 46% UV-B and 23% UV-A. Completely free from skin-irritating or environmentally harmful ingredients like microplastics, nanoparticles, or drying alcohols, it is especially suitable for dry and sensitive skin with its nourishing texture.
What's the difference between Sun Cream SPF 50 and Sun Cream SPF 30? Our sun protection products differ mainly in their consistency and UV filter system. Our sun creams have a thicker texture and contain mineral (inorganic) UV filters. The Sun Cream SPF 50+ contains exclusively organic (chemical) filters. Mineral filters work on the skin's surface and provide full protection immediately after application. As they don't deeply penetrate the skin and reflect UV radiation, they are particularly suitable for sensitive skin. Typically, they may cause a light to medium white cast. Chemical or organic UV filters, like those in our Sun Cream SPF 50+, work in the deeper layers of the skin and convert UV radiation into heat. The lightweight texture is absorbed deeply, and full protection is achieved after 20-30 minutes.
Note
Our Sun Cream SPF 50 only works reliably when applied in sufficient quantity and evenly. Important: Remember to reapply your sun protection after swimming or sweating.
Please be aware: Even high SPF sun creams do not provide complete protection against UV rays.
HOW TO APPLY SUNSCREEN SPF 50
Apply 4-5 pumps or two finger lengths of sun cream evenly on your face, neck, and décolleté after your moisturizer every morning, gently massaging it in. Be sure not to forget your ears. Avoid direct contact with your eyes.
Why is it essential to use sufficient sun cream?
Insufficient amount may reduce the product's protective effect. The sun protection factor (SPF) is determined in tests with a specific amount of sun cream. If less cream is used than in the tests, the level of protection is reduced. So, the right dosage is crucial to ensure effective protection against harmful UV radiation. A common recommendation is to apply 2 milligrams of sun cream per square centimeter of skin.
A simple rule of thumb for facial application is the "two-finger" rule. Pump the sun cream onto the inside of your index and middle fingers and use as many pumps as needed to cover both finger lengths with the product.
Well-aging starts with proper sun protection that guards against not only sunburn but also photoaging. Especially if you use active ingredients like retinol or AHA, it is crucial to take care of your skin, as these ingredients stimulate the skin's top layer's cell renewal, which has less natural protection. Regardless, you should use sun protection every day, whether the sun is shining or not.
